MyPass uses verifiable credentials to enable the distribution, verification and notarization of digital documents.
MyPass tackles one of the biggest barriers to public services: document sharing. Build your network, set permissions and share your files remotely with the service providers you trust.
MyPass administrators have the ability to fully customize the MyPass, toggling features and customizing the UI to tailor the application to a variety of contexts and use cases
MyPass has two main user types: Helpers and Owners. Three counting the platform's administrator(s).
Document Owners are the heart of MyPass. These are the users that wish to upload, store and safekeep their own digital documents.
Document Helpers are case managers, relatives or advocates of Document Owners. They exist to help upload and notarize their documents
MyPass Administrators are the architects of the platform. They adapt the application to the contextual needs of where MyPass exists. Responsibilities include setting up document types, delineating role permissions and toggling features.
Before development, our prototype was extensively user tested by Austin's Homelessness Advisory Committee. AHAC is a diverse group of individuals that have or are currently experiencing homelessness. With more than 10 members of a diverse age and background AHAC has provided invaluable feedback in creating a comprehensive and accessible platform.
Carefully branded and thoroughly researched, MyPass has inspired a myriad of design artifacts including style guides, UX rules and a design criteria for working with a vulnerable population. With a use case tailored specifically for Austin, but designed for extensibility, MyPass offers an adaptable and powerful alternative to ID verification and document distribution.
A core pillar of our investigation includes a report on the current service ecosystem and its related integration requirements for service providers in the homeless community. In Austin, MyPass has a potential use case for accelerating service delivery and avoiding the barriers of loosing and re-acquiring IDs and vital documents.
This project was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Pioneering Ideas in Technology and Health Grant.
A special thank you to Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, for making all of this possible.
Currently in the stage of design and development, the team is working on designing and programming MyPass from scratch. Once we have a fully functional web-based prototype, we will move into polish and testing.
